Meet debut author Catalina Margulis

Author of AGAIN, ONLY MORE LIKE YOU (April 29, 2025)

Hi, I’m Catalina (most people call me Cat). And this month (April 29, to be exact) I’m debuting as an author with my book AGAIN, ONLY MORE LIKE YOU!

This book is a long time coming. Almost 10 years in fact. I started writing it at the end of my 30s, when I noticed my friends and I were all going through the same existential crises of “What am I doing with my life?” and “How did I get here?” and “What do I do next?”

It took me 24-48 hours to draft it (the whole movie just played out for me in a single download from the big guy in the sky), and then another 5 years to finish it (perfectionist that I am).

I got signed by one of my top 3 dream agents right away, who immediately sent the book out on submission. AND it still took another almost 5 years to get published.

And now here we are!

This book has been like a best friend for all these years. I’ve cried and laughed with these characters over and over again, with each revision.

It’s a story about best friends whose lives have taken them in completely different directions–from each other, and from the people they thought they would become. One is a former New York magazine editor, now stay at home mom, which is the last thing she ever wanted for herself. The other is a marine biologist who has been living a life of romance and adventure, only to find herself facing down the fact that the husband-house-kids vision she always dreamed of, might not happen for her. On top of it, they feel like they’re losing each other too.

It asks the question: Where do you go, when you spent your whole life getting here?

And the answer has taken me on the most wonderful journey, both in my book, and in my life.

I hope this story encourages anyone who is feeling stuck or hopeless. I hope it gives you a mad case of the giggles, many times over! And yes, I hope it makes you cry big, fat, cathartic tears too. And that it makes you want to call up that friend. And go after the thing that brings you joy. And know that it’s never too late, to make your wildest dreams come true.
